You Love Your New Colour, Here’s How To Keep It!

Updated: Mar 18, 2022

Don’t head straight to the shower!

- I recommend at least 24 hours before shampooing, this gives your new colour time to set in.

Skip the SUPER hot water!

- That hot shower might feel good after a long day, but is it worth ruining that beautifully-vibrant color? I don’t think so! Use cool water more often than not.

Think about switching up those favorite products of yours!

- To maintain your newly dyed locs/strands, you just might have to say good-bye to some of your “go to” products. Many over-the-counter products contain salts, sulfates, and detergents. This is why they are so inexpensive. These ingredients strip out that fantastic colour. Fortunately, my Color Services include 1 colour shampoo!

Let’s talk Conditioner!

- Oh yeah, it matters. Conditioner is equally important as shampoo in the hair cleansing process. When using color conditioners, make sure to wring the hair out well and apply the conditioner in small sections. Let it sit for 3-5 minute, then rinse with COOL water.

OKAY, let’s be honest!

-Yes, it is true that you are damaging your hair everytime you turn on that blow dryer or use a curling iron. This is why I book using a 4-6 week stretch between your appointments!! You can Thank me .......Now☺️!!! I am very much unapologetic for being the bearer of bad news. Then again, it is the price we pay for that super, Super, GLAM session at the salon. If hot tools are a “want”, using a lightweight leave -in treatment serum/oil prior to styling shall suffice. This product creates a protective barrier and hydrates the hair for colour and health longevity!!

Now that you have the education; -Full Hi-lights

ENJOY your new look. 🦋
